Syngenta introduced Zyrox Fly Granular Bait last fall. That means that this year I am conducting several large field trials to try and demonstrate that it has an affect on fly populations at a farm.

| Zyrox bait in a box with mink food added to attract flies |
Monday afternoon Kevin and I were on our way to Jerome Idaho to set out the first trial at a mink farm. We met Nate Hill the sales rep who found the trial site for me and met with the grower to discuss our options. I wanted to monitor for a week but the grower was ready to treat so treat we did.
While I sprayed Arilon insecticide on the fly resting spots on the shed roof, Kevin worked applying Zyrox bait to the bait boxes and under the mink pens. I'm not sure who had the harder job but it took over 2 hours to treat 12 mink barns.

| Watch Out! They bite! |
We really earned our pay in the field that day. By the time we were done my arms and shoulders were so tired I could hardly raise them above my head and Kevin's legs and back were worn out from having to bend over to apply the bait.

I'll be back next week to check the monitoring to see if we have having any affect.
