Sunday, March 20th was the dedication of the Provo City Center Temple. As a member of the high council I was asked to attend all three of the dedicatory sessions and serve as an usher and door watcher for two of the sessions.
It was interesting to note the differences in the three sessions in terms of the speakers and the messages. The most interesting thing to me was the reverence of the members as they waited in the chapel for the sessions to start. Of course part of the reason there was more reverence was that there were no children under the age of 8 present but also the sacredness of the event helped members to show more reverence.
Since the dedication is has been wonderful to see the amount of activity around the temple, particularly all the weddings on the weekends. What a wonderful blessing to have a second temple in our city. I think Provo is the only city in the world to have 2 temples within its city boundaries.
