Last summer we had the roof on the house replaced. We probably waited a year too long because we ended up with water damage to the ceiling in the bathroom and the living room next to the chimney.
Two weeks ago Kevin and I scraped off the damaged paint in the bathroom and removed the fan cover and sprayed new texture. Then Kevin painted the ceiling of the room.
This past weekend I finally got the moldy wall board replaced and re-textured the ceiling in the living room. It looks a little rough but at least there is not any black mold visible. I suppose if you were looking for leak damage you would notice the work in the living room but it's not that noticeable if you aren't looking directly at it.
