This Wednesday the Priests were in charge of the mutual combined activity. Originally we were going to play hide and seek as a back to school activity. This activity was originally planned to be held earlier in the year when it was dark during mutual. Because it is still light at 7 pm and because of my concern about 35 teenagers running through peoples yards we changed the activity.
We started with a game called shout. We divided the 32 youth into three teams and gave them a phrase to shout out with each person taking one word. The echo in the cultural hall made that a bit difficult but it was a good start.
Next we divided them into 9 teams each with a mobile phone that took photos. Then we gave them the photo collage above and sent them out into the ward to find where each of the photos were taken. They had to come back and show their photos. They enjoyed that.
Then it was time to play 'Scatter'. Mark Larsen led that activity and they youth had a great time playing this version of dodge ball. The evening ended with cookie barrel and chocolate milk. We had to kick the youth out at 8:30 or they would have played all night. With school started we'll have to make sure they are on their way home after our activities now.
