A week in California

The week of February 2nd I spent in California for work and play. I left home Monday morning to drive to Yucaipa and then on to San Diego. I made good time to Las Vegas but in Vegas it appeared that half of the population of California had come to Nevada for the weekend to gamble on the Super Bowl. In Yucaipa I dropped of some rodent bait at Nick Grisafe's home. Then I drove to San Diego to have dinner with Kyle.
I was in San Diego to review research protocols for 2015. Wednesday after our meetings I drove to Pasadena to watch my Nephew Ben Burgoyne play basketball for Pasadena High School. I got an hours worth of video but no photos.
Thursday evening I picked up Susie at the Long Beach airport. We were planning to go to Ben's basketball game on Friday evening but Thursday night at practice Ben broke his nose, again. So Friday after my morning meetings Susie and I went to Old Town San Diego for lunch. We parked at the LDS visitors center for the Mormon Battalion and had our photo taken.

Then we walked down to Miguels Mexican Restaurant and had an enjoyable lunch on the patio. After lunch we drove to Altadena where we visited with Dale until Susan came home from work. Because we didn't go to the game we had time to have a nice dinner at the Green Tea Room in Pasadena.
After dinner Susie and I were off for Victorville to get ahead of the traffic on Saturday morning. This did not relieve us of all traffic as we got to sit in some traffic Friday night on the 210. I'm not sure how anyone can stand to live in Los Angeles with it's constant traffic jams. We arrived home around 6 tired but rested from an enjoyable weekend together.
