Spring Gardening

Today was the second Saturday of Spring. Temperatures were in the 60's and 70's and there was lots to do in the yard. We had a little rain last Monday but everything was dry. After we worked in the flower beds I watered all the plants and trees. Susie and I started by pruning the roses and moving some plants into the front bed. I planted a new Burning bush and moved some day lilies. In the front I moved some Sage and the large Russian Sage bush. Hopefully they will survive the move.
I cultivated the raspberries behind the stairs. They are doing well after their transplanting a week ago. The raspberries actually look better than they ever have since I first planted them two years ago. I may put them under netting to see if I can keep the deer from eating them.
All my seedlings are up and large enough to move to small pots. I just have the basil left to move. Things are growing well. I'm hoping we can avoid the early season frost we had last year.
