King's Singers vs. Gonzaga

Saturday evening I two things I wanted to participate in. The first was the King's Singers concert at the BYU DeJong Concert hall. The second was the BYU vs. Gonzaga Men's basketball game on ESPN2.
Since we could record the game and watch it later Susie and I went to the concert. We had dinner at the Station 22 Cafe on Center Street in Provo right across from the Temple. They have an interesting American Southern Fusion cuisine. I had the 22 Club sandwich, Susie had the Salmon fish and chips and we started with Hush Puppies with Special Memphis sauce which was delicious.

The concert was excellent as usual. Very full house with quite a varied audience including President Deiter Uchdorf. We tried to follow the progress of the game on our cell phones but the DeJong concert hall is a true dead zone in a sea of digital signal. I think all the acoustic deadening that is in the hall also blocks out all cell phone signals and there were so many people trying to connect to the visitors web site that there was not bandwidth.
We just had to sit in the dark and hope the Cougars were playing well. After the concert we were relieved to see that the Cougars had managed to hold a lead throughout the game and were up by 10 points with about 8 minutes to play. We decided not to jinx them by listening on the radio. When we got home Kevin was watching the game and had just started the 2nd half. I kept checking the score on my iPad. Finally the score kept showing as BYU 73, Gonzaga 70 with 1 second to go.
Then mom called and the neighbors started shooting off fireworks so I figured BYU had won. After watching the game it was a miracle that they held on in spite of missed foul shots, turnovers, shot clock violations and nearly a miracle half court shot by the Bulldogs.
All-in-all a very excellent evening.
