Wichita Times Three

This week I was in Wichita Kansas for the Kansas Pest Control Association annual meeting. It was actually the third time I've been to Wichita in a year. Quite a record considering I had never been there before last year. I flew into Kansas City on Wednesday afternoon then drove the 200 miles to Wichita. The drive is nice because it's a toll road without much traffic.
The meeting is downtown at the Drury Plaza Hotel which is on the Arkansas River. Our trade show booths were set up in the conference center overlooking the river complex. They have a nice set of trails that run on both sides of the river and run past the Veterans memorials and several museums.
Wednesday they had snow in Wichita and it was quite cold and icy when I arrived. Thursday afternoon was quite sunny and warmer so between trade show sessions I took a 4 mile walk along the banks of the Arkansas River.
At one point the trail runs past the area where Wichita was originally founded. I got this photo of one of the original log cabins built along the river.
Thursday evening I wanted to watch basketball so to speed up dinner I went to a local burger joint called Mooyah Burgers. This was their signature burger with a "small" order of fries. Needless to say I didn't finish all the fries and I was back in the hotel in plenty of time to watch tournament basektball.
