One of my pet peeves is electrical outlets that don't match the color of the cover plate or are a different color than the other outlets in a room.

By the sink in our guest bathroom is an electrical outlet that is usually covered by the hand towel hanging there. The other day the towel was gone and I noticed that the receptacles were off white and the cover was white. Also all the other outlets in the room were white. Something had to be done about that.

I purchased new receptacles and this morning installed them. I thought it would take 10 minutes but it took nearly 15 minutes just to figure out what breaker switch turned them off. (Why don't builders label the circuit breaker box? That's another pet peeve.) Then it took another 25 minutes to get the new receptacles wired. I finally had to break down and read the instructions. Finally after nearly an hour the new receptacles are in place and they match the rest of the room.
