Stake Conference

Sunday June 7th was our Stake Conference. I was invited to speak as part of a group of people who were asked to share a short experience about how they remember the Savior in their daily lives.
I was also singing in the Stake choir so I was seated with the choir behind the podium.
When Pres. Alexander announced the speakers he went through a long list of people, then paused. I was hopeful he had not written my name down and I was off the hook. Instead he looked at the stand then scanned the audience, then asked if anyone had seen Brother Roper. Several people in the congregation pointed to me in the choir. He turned around and saw me and announced me as the last of that group. So close but no cigar. I still had to give my short talk.
