We enjoyed a light lunch of Hot Dogs, chips, and fruit and then we were off to "Monster Mini Golf" for a family round.
During lunch it really started to rain and after a few minutes there was a huge crash of thunder which meant the lightening strike was near by. After lunch I was looking out the kitchen door to the north when I noticed that there was a fire burning. Soon it was a huge blaze. Turns out a home near the church was struck by lightening and caught fire.
Because of the rain Monster golf was crowded. Many other families had the same idea we did. It took about an hour to play our round of golf. Cole and Tess are still a little unclear on the concept but we all had a good time.
Back home we watched TV and played games and waited for our Pizza order at Papa Johns. We are a big enough group that we made quick work of the 3 large pizzas we had ordered. After we had cleaned up dinner we were ready to play 'Garbage'.
Garbage is a combination of 6 different games that the Madsens really enjoy playing. I've hear a lot about it but had never played it. We had a lot of fun playing but finally had to stop when it was bed time. After prayers, scriptures and stories the adults retired to the basement again. With high speed internet I was able to watch the Nebraska vs UCLA football game on my iPad while Susie read her book. (The Madsens don't have ESPN)

When we got to church we were surprised to see on the bulletin that Lance was listed as Bishop Lance Madsen and the 2nd counselor was listed as Bishop Wright. The actual Bishop was out of town. Both Lance and Bro. Wright got a nervous chuckle out of that little mistake. Actually Lance had to conduct and teach the combined youth meeting because Bro. Wright had lost his voice.
On our way home from church we drove through the neighborhood next to the church to see the home that was struck by lightening and burned down on Saturday afternoon. Kevin was appalled that we had gone rubber necking and ducked down in the back seat so no one could see him.
Then it was home for a movie, 'Planes, Trains, and Automobiles' and sandwiches and pop corn. Later we played another game of Garbage and spent the evening visiting and getting ready to see Star Wars on Monday.
