Sunday December 20th was our Wards and Stakes Christmas programs. In our ward Susie and I sang in the choir, Susie accompanied the youth and the choir, and I sang in a male octet that performed an arrangement of "Come Lord Jesus".
Sunday evening was our Stakes Christmas Sing Along conducted by Corry Cropper, our Stake music director. I sang in another male octet. We performed "Good Christian Men Rejoice".
The highlight of the evening was an interesting musical group made up of BYU music professors. Those performing were Ron Brough on the marimba, Jaren Hinckley on the clarinet (he arranged the music), Christian Smith on the bassoon, Alex Woods on the violin, and Michelle Kesler on the cello. It was a very interesting combination of instruments.
The event was well attended and everyone had a great time singing Chrismas carols and music from the Messiah. I hope we do this again next year.
