Disney Adventure Day 4 - Frontier Land

Wednesday morning we were hoping for an early start but everyone was so tired from our late evening on Tuesday that we slept in until after 7 am. Then we just missed the bus to the magic kingdom so that cost us 15 minutes. We were finally in the park around 9:30.
I'm always amazed by the throngs of people that are in the park first thing in the morning. I think it seems like a big crowd because they are all congregated around Main Street USA to start with.
We decided that we would start off the day by visiting "Pirates of the Caribbean" while the lines were short. And they were short. There was basically no wait except for the long walk to the start of the ride.

After Pirates we all climbed the "Swiss Family Robinson Tree House" and enjoyed the views of Frontier Land. Our next stop was the Magical Tiki room. We all enjoyed this magical musical event, except for Cole who was ready to leave before it started.
Then we walked back across the park to Future Land to visit the Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. This is an interactive ride where you shoot at the forces of Emperor Zurg. The ride keeps your score for all the hits you get. I had a high score of 327,200 points. Of course I was helped out when the ride stop but my gun kept working while the others were unable to shoot.
Then we were off to use our Fast pass for a ride on Space Mountain. Because the lines were short we rode first in the standby line then in the fast pass line. As you can see by the looks on our faces it was good fun.

We then walked back to Frontier Land to get some lunch. We ate at Pecos Bills. We ate burgers, fries, and grilled cheese.
I have been harassed by a number of different birds while eating a picnic at a theme park but never by a bird this large. It was very picky and seemed to be looking for either Chicken or the pulled beef.
We then took the ferry over to Tom Sawyer island where we hiked, climbed, and explored. We particularly enjoyed the barrel bridge that Tess could cross with ease because she was so light she did not displace the barrels.
From the island we returned to Main Street to shop for some souvenirs. We bought Kevin some pajamas. Tess got a very cute princess hat. We were going to watch the parade on Main Street but after the band came by there didn't seem to be much else.
We returned to Adventure Land and rode the Aladdin's Flying Carpet ride because there was not wait. Finally it was time for our two premier rides of the day, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. While the rest of us enjoyed this rides Grandma Susie and Tess took a ride on the Train.

When we had finished we all went to the Aloha Isle to have a famous Dole Whip, which is basically Pineapple ice cream.
Our dinner reservation was not until 6:45 at the Wave Restaurant at the Contemporary resort. We had a bit of time to kill so we rode twice around the park on the railroad. Then we had our photo taken in front of the entry
Finally we rode the monorail to the resort but still were a bit early. So we walked around the shops and took a well deserved rest. I had over 15000 steps today.
The dinner was excellent and our server was very friendly. As usual I overate. Then it was back to the monorail for a long ride back to the Magic Kingdom where we boarded the bus back to the Old Key West resort. I took a short swim then it was back to the room to recharge electronics and write in the blog.
