Disney World Day 1 & 2 - Magic Kingdom

The long awaited Disney World adventure has finally arrived. Susie and I were up early on Sunday morning to travel to Salt Lake City to catch our flight to Orlando. We arrived in Orlando about 10 minutes early and made our way to the Disney Express shuttle. I was pretty tired from carrying our bag full of oatmeal, granola, Swedish Fish, and assorted other snack items.
Ready to board our flight in Salt Lake City
Susie and I arrived at the Old Key West resort about 5 pm, just in time to drop off our bags, and catch the bus for Downtown Disney to have dinner with the Madsens at the Reglan Road Irish Pub.

The Pub was busy and noisy but fun. We particularly enjoyed the Irish dancers. Spencer, Josh, and Cole got in on the act.
Kyle arrived after we did so we met him at the resort where he was munching Pizza and watching golf on TV. Dinner took a long time so we didn't get everyone in bed until after 10. Maren, Lance, and Tess slept in the Master suite. Kyle, Spencer, Josh, and Cole slept in the double bedroom and Susie and I slept on the hide-a-bed in the living, dining room area. For a hide-a-bed it is not to uncomfortable and we got a good nights sleep.

There was much excitement Monday morning as we all put on our Disney T Shirts that Maren had made for each of us. (we actually got many compliments from fellow tourists and Disney staff about how unique the shirt designs were.)

Monday was Magic Kingdom day. First stop was a photo in front of the Cinderella castle. We all look fresh and happy.
Our first stop was the classic, 'It's a Small World'. We had a very short wait and got that attraction with the annoying song out of the way first. Other attractions visited were the Micky's PhilharMagic, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor where Kyle received an award for being 'That Guy'. They kept showing his photo whenever they made a 'That Guy' joke. His nephews were very impressed. We also visited 'Under the Sea, Journey of the little Mermaid', and the People Mover.
Highlight of the day was the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, where we were photographed and even filmed for your enjoyment. We also went on Peter Pans Flight and Stitch's Great Escape (pretty strange). We visited one of the oldest attractions, Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress. We enjoyed going on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and riding the Tea Cups on The Mad Hatters Tea Party and a ride on the Merry Go Round.
One of the more interesting waits was for the Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride. Mid way through the wait there was a large indoor playground where we had to chase Tess down in order to finally go fly the Elephants.
The day was topped off by dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table on the third floor of the Cinderella Castle. We were greeted by Cinderella at the entrance. During dinner we had visits from Snow White, Sleeping Beauty (Aurora), The Little Mermaid (Auriel), and Princes Jasmine from Aladin. Tess even put on her Princess Dress for the evening. Like any good castle meal the boys were each given a plastic sword so that the after dinner entertainment was a sword fight tournament.
We arrived back at our resort around 10 pm, tired but happy. After all this is a magical place.
