Since I had already been on this ride last fall and because Tess is too small for this ride Susie and I took Tess around the park looking at the flowers and seeing the sites.
We were able to visit the Butterfly Garden and see the many beautiful specimens.
Susie, Tess, and I then met the rest of our group for a little planning. They decided to go on another ride that was too big for Tess but recommended that we go visit Spaceship Earth which is inside the large geodasic ball that is the symbol for Epcot Center. Then we stopped at the Character meet and greet where, after a nearly 45 minute wait, we got to have out photos with Micky Mouse, Goofy, and Minnie Mouse. Tess was in Heaven.Epcot isn't exactly kid friendly so around noon Susie and I took our 4 grandchildren back to the resort for lunch followed by swimming. We had lunch at Olivia's at the homestead (where I accidentally used up 6 of our dining plan meals). Then we were back to the room to change into swim wear and make our way to the pool right next to our room.
It was overcast and breezy and once you were in the water it was a bit chilly to get out. The kids stayed in the pool for almost 90 minutes. I finally had to drag the boys back to the room so we could get ready to go to dinner.
At 5:45 we were back on the bus to Epcot so we could go to the Biergarten in German Town for an Octoberfest buffet dinner. This was my choice for the week and it did not disappoint. It was a very nice buffet with lots of German vegetable salads, brats, and wurst. We didn't have beer but we consumed a lot of Root Beer.
They had a German band that played polka music, and the Alpine horns.
After dinner we found a picnic table along the lake and waited for the fireworks show to start at 9 pm. The weather was perfect and we had a nice time visiting and eating Kyle's Chinese orange candy. The fireworks show lasted 17 minutes and was very entertaining. Then we joined the throng back to the buses. We were able to squeeze into the last bus and were on our way back to Old Key West resort by about 9:45.
