Last year at our Stake Youth Conference we had the opportunity to have a
meeting with Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. He spent two hours answering and asking questions with the youth of our stake.
May 12th Elder Bednar and his wife hosted a similar event as a world wide broadcast to the youth of the church. We decided to hold this event as our weekly Mutual activity. We also decided to hold it at our home where we could stream the feed over our large TV. There was a group of youth with the Bednars at the Church Office Building and two other groups linked by Internet in the Philippines and in Guatemala.

We had about 30 of our youth here. Considering all the other things going on that evening like A Capella concerts and orchestra concerts it was pretty good attendance. The questions were great and the answers were uplifting and inspiring. I hope the youth learned something they can use from this occasion.

Following the broadcast we had a hot dog and chips dinner. We were going to serve on our back deck but during the broadcast the wind started to blow and the rain to fall so we served inside. The youth ate all the food and then stayed around to visit until nearly 8:30. It was a very nice activity.
